In 2007 the DoD Trusted Access Program Office (TAPO) accredited SRI's wafer foundry as a Department of Defense (DoD) Category 1 Trusted Foundry. With this endorsement, SRI is able to offer the DoD and Government agencies a secure on-shore, QML-certified wafer foundry for military electronics.
SRI International has a TOP SECRET facility clearance and safeguarding capability (CAGE Code ODKS7). Secure communications (STU III telephones and secure fax) are available. The cognizant security authority is the Defense Security Service, Industrial Security Field Office, 2 Greentree Centre, Suite 120, Marlton, NJ, 08053.
Since 1989, SRI International has had a DIA-accredited Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). It includes conference rooms, offices, a vault, an administrative area, and secure communications equipment, including an STE telephone and secure fax capability at the TS/SCI level to support any communications requirements for secure telecommunications between the Sponsor’s facility and SRI International.
SRI International maintains collateral classified activities, under the National Industrial Security Program, per the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), January 1995. SRI International also maintains two closed DoD areas and employs approved AIS processing in compliance with NISPOM regulations.
SRI International’s physical security includes a 24/7 security staff, an internal video monitoring system, as well as alarms and card swipe access for company restricted rooms.
